Femme couchée qui rêve

The sculpture transposes the theme of the Cubist ‘Composition (Couple couché)’ into the formal type of the spatial drawing that Giacometti developed out of the disc sculptures: rather than impressing the symbols into a surface, he allows them to hover freely in the transparent space.
