Large Head of Diego, 1954
Grande Tête de Diego

This unusually large bust of Giacometti’s brother Diego is the most pronounced example of the contrast between the wide, flat profile view and the very narrow front-on aspect. Executed in 1955, the cast has a particularly fine patina; the plaster is held in the Fondation Giacometti in Paris.
