Annette, 1951
Annette

Giacometti met Annette Arm (Geneva 1923–Paris 1993) in Geneva during the war in 1943. From 1946 onwards she shared his frugal life in Paris and became his most important model, after Diego. The couple married in the French capital on 19 July 1949, and from then on Annette also regularly accompanied Alberto to Stampa. Here she is seated in the spartan studio at Rue Hippolyte-Maindron.
