The figure was created by casting the initial clay or Plasticine model using a multi-part negative plaster mould (plaster piece-mould). The plaster displays no evidence of further working.

No subsequent moulds were made from this plaster, meaning that it did not serve as a template for a bronze cast. In the inventory of Giacometti’s estate from 1966, Paul Chardon recorded it under no. 30 as ʻStanding, Clad Womanʼ.
