Woman, 1929
Femme

ʻFemmeʼ was created as a cast of a preceding model made using a multi-part negative plaster mould (plaster piece-mould). Subsequently, Giacometti slightly reworked the surface. From 1956, the plaster served as a template for bronze casts made using the sand-casting method. After it was damaged - most likely in the foundry - the plaster was repaired and partially covered in white slip.
